6 reasons to choose a Dekton worktop

Dekton is about as strong and versatile as they come. With a range of protective properties and colours, it’s perfect for almost every surface in your home.

But what is it? It’s a highly sophisticated (and secretive!) mix of glass, porcelain, and quartz that undergoes a process called Sinterized Particle Technology that mimics the environmental changes that natural stone goes through over thousands of years… but in a fraction of the time! To turn it into the slab you see in your kitchen, a 25,000-tonne press flattens it into a large, highly resistant surface.

Not quite sold yet? Here are our top six reasons to choose Dekton in your home…

1. It resists everything

Because of how it’s manufactured, Dekton is resistant to scratches and stains and has virtually zero porosity so things like red wine or tea won’t seep through and create a mark. It also has maximum resistance to fire and heat making it a safe choice for cooking, cladding, or flooring.

2. UV resistant

These days, homeowners are opting for bigger gardens and space to entertain. Dekton, unlike quartz, is known for its resistance to the suns UV rays meaning it won’t fade or discolour outside. It’s can also withstand freezing and thawing so it’ll keep safe in the colder months.

3. Endless choice of colour, finish and thickness

With over 60 colours to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice. From industrial designs like Trillium or Orix to marble-like designs like Aura or Rem… no matter your taste, you’ll find a Dekton colour you like.

There’s also a range of finishes to choose from including matte, gloss, or velvet depending on what you’re after. Plus, the slabs come in a variety of thicknesses from 8mm to 30mm – and Dekton Slim at 4mm is perfect for cladding cupboard doors or interior walls.

4. Peace of mind

All Dekton surfaces come with a 25-year warranty* so you can enjoy the benefits of it for years to come. We also provide a free aftercare service up to a year after installation.

5. Infinite applications

Whether you want to wow with your worktops or flaunt your floors you can use Dekton throughout your home. Many of the colours can be treated with Dekton Grip+ giving it anti-slip properties that can be used on flooring inside and outside, including stairs. Dekton can be used in kitchens and bathrooms as a worktop or wall and floor covering. If you’re lucky enough to have one, Dekton can also be installed as pool flooring. Finally, if you want to stand out you can use Dekton as exterior wall façade.**
