Our favourite festive cocktails

Quartz & Dekton worktops are known for their stain-resistant properties so you won’t have to worry about spilling your festive tipples on them (as long as you wipe them up!). With this in mind, here are our favourite festive cocktails for you to rustle up this Christmas…

Mulled wine

A firm favourite at this time of year mulled wine is easy if you know how. Grab your favourite bottle of red wine and follow the simple instructions below.

Take a large saucepan and add red wine, a sliced clementine, a cinnamon stick, star anise, four cloves, and three dried figs. Heat until simmering, then remove from the heat, and take out all the spices & fruit. Add a drop of brandy to taste, ladle into mugs and enjoy!

Gingerbread eggnog

This might take a bit more work but the result is a creamy, lush tipple that will warm you up!

Heat double cream, ginger, vanilla, cloves, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and milk in a saucepan and cook until it starts to simmer around the edges (don’t let it boil!). Take it off the hob and let it rest for half an hour. Once cooled, strain the mixture and discard the spices.

Beat egg yolks and gradually add sugar and salt. Beat on high speed until thick and pale – usually for a few minutes. Add some of the warm, strained cream mixture to the egg mix and whisk on the lowest setting. Once mixed add this to the rest of the cream mixture and cook on medium heat for around 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

Let it cool over a bowl of ice water and stir in rum, cognac, or bourbon and the rest of the milk. When you’re ready to serve, beat some egg whites and fold it into the mixture – add some nutmeg on top, put the fire on, and enjoy!
